Wedding Weekend Wrap-Up

I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend! From the looks of my social feeds, most of my friends were in weddings or running marathons… I think a few did both!

Although I did do a lot of running, some of which was done in heels, I was only in a wedding this weekend.

Brad and I took a half day off on Friday and headed across the state to help prepare for mom’s wedding and rehearse. We got the church and reception hall decked out and ran through the wedding before enjoying a relaxed dinner with the rest of the wedding party.

On Saturday morning, my sister and I left our hotel and me our mom at the hair salon for coffee/tea and hairstyles. When finishing up at the reception desk of the salon, I set the hanger I was holding on the counter and didn’t realize there were tealights on the counter and I caught the hanger on fire! It was more funny than dangerous, I quickly put out the hanger and we all had a good laugh about it, but boy was I glad that the reception candles were LED!

Before heading back to our hotel to pick up our men, my sister and I took a little trip down memory lane. Since we used to live in the town where my mom was married, we stopped by a couple of places that held a lot of memories for us, including driving by our old house. It brought back memories of our shared pink bedroom with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast border on the walls and the swing set that my dad built in the backyard.

I love this photo of my mom that I captured in the bridal room.

My mom had a beautiful and unique wedding. Like all weddings, there were hiccups but at the end of the day, it she was married and is hopefully relaxing on her honeymoon with the newest member of our family.

After cleaning up, we headed home to sleep in our own bed again and spent Sunday recovering. I’m nursing some foot pain, that I hope resolves itself before Brad and I leave for our 3rd anniversary trip!

How was your weekend?

When was the last time you took a trip down memory lane?
