The other evening Brad looked at me and said, “Do you know that when I first met you, I thought you were a total weirdo?” He followed that shortly with, “and after all these years, I know I was right.”
“Yeah, well I thought you were weird too,” I shot back.
As our 6th wedding anniversary is this weekend, it’s nice to be open about how weird we think the other person really is.
One of the important parts of a relationship is being comfortable with your weirdness. If you feel like you have to hide your personality and quirks around your partner because they won’t like you for it or will want to change you, then you’re probably not with the right person. Be with someone who accepts you for you.
This is not the first time I’ve talked about being weird in my marriage. The longer we’re married, the more I feel like we’re an anomaly to people.
I’m looking forward to many more years of weirdness together!
When I read the title I thoguht you were talking about my uncle. Hopefully you do not knwo him. So I am glad to say happy anniversary.
Happy anniversary!
