What a Weekend!

I’m not usually one for making a blog all about my weekend… but there’s sooooo much to write about that I’ll hit the highlights now and tell the stories later.

Saturday

Brad and I grabbed a tasty breakfast on Saturday morning before hitting the road and heading south for a friend’s wedding “back home.” Not only did we have the opportunity to witness two friends vow to love, honor and cherish each other, we got to briefly catch up with a couple of people that we haven’t seen for awhile.

After the wedding, we made a brief stop at the K-fam homestead, then hit the road back to Cleveland to get the keys to our house. We closed on a beautiful house a month ago and we finally have keys and a plan for making it our home. More on the story later…

We reluctantly left our house and went back to our apartment, where we ironed, packed and doubled checked bags for my husband’s trip out west.

Sunday

The alarm sounded early on Sunday morning and a car service whisked Brad off to the airport.

Hanging with Grandma and Aunt Rachel

I had zero desire to pack boxes all day Sunday so I went a visiting at my mom’s. I spent the afternoon hanging out with my mom and later my brother’s family came over and I spent the rest of the day in all of my aunt-like glory. I played with my two-year-old niece, she wanted her doll to get auntie kisses too so I also got smacked in the face with it. She is in the “terrible twos” but not nearly as terrible as other children that age can be, and whenever she got in trouble, she came to aunt Rachel for hugs. I also got to spend time with my three-week-old nephew. He has the best facial expressions and loves to snuggle.

Then I came home to our apartment alone. For the first time in our marriage, my husband were in different time zones. *sigh* He’ll be home soon.
