Weekend Wrap Up: Little Brother Edition

I really shouldn’t call my brother-in-law a “little brother” I should stick with younger. When I first met Brad’s “little brother” he was shorter than me! Since then he’s grown up a lot and is a college guy now (as opposed to the middle school tween who I first met).

Friday

Anyway, he came up to visit us this weekend arriving at our house on Friday after leaving work. He beat me there, mostly because I was talking OmniPods and walnuts with a stranger at the grocery store.

My cat looks sad, but I assure you he is not.

Brian got to experience our really exciting, typical Friday night… at home watching a movie. Sometimes weeks just wear you out!

We decided to make pizza and picked a movie to watch. That means, I made pizza and the guys picked the movie.

While we watched Non-Stop, banana nut bread baked to serve as our dessert. Brian quickly made friends with Holmes and Watson when we first adopted them, so it wasn’t a surprise that he never sat alone in a chair.

Saturday

On Saturday, we got up and met a college friend of Brad’s and mine for breakfast. We introduced both of them to our favorite place to get a good weekend breakfast called Victoria’s.

After breakfast, we retired back to our house and the three guys went downstairs to play Mario Kart. I could have probably joined them, but I really suck at videos games, so I sewed.

We decided to take Brian out to dinner at the place my in-laws cannot stop thinking about… Paladar. We went out to the East Side and did some wandering around before getting our guac on and enjoying Caribbean food.

Sunday

Sunday we decided to go downtown and pretty much just wander and sight see a little. We picked a good day because it was quiet and we had most of the city to ourselves. We showed Brian the Playhouse Square chandelier (the world’s largest outdoor chandelier), the Arcade, the 5th Street Arcades, East 4th Street and popped into the Cleveland Clothing Co.

We walked over to Tower City and went up to the Terminal Tower Observation Deck on the 42nd floor. None of us had ever gone up to the observation deck before, so it was a new experience all the way around.

The observation deck offers a fantastic view of the city and Lake Erie in all directions. It was fun to point out places to each other and comment on what things look like from above.

How was your weekend?
