Recently had a meeting in the Denver area with a client so I headed out to since my sister lives out there it was the perfect opportunity to extend my trip a few days and hang out with her and my fantastic nieces and nephew.
My client meeting was on the west side of Denver, following the meeting my colleague and I headed to Golden Colorado.
For our birthdays, Brad and I took a much-needed vacation… a Western Caribbean cruise.
This was cruise number six for us. It was originally supposed to be a couples’ winter escape. Our decision to take this trip was actually made while sitting in a winery in Madison with our friends in November. Tickets were booked and we were planning our escape when our friends found out that they are expecting (yay!). They weighed the risks and decided to do what is best for them and their baby and cancelled the trip. Every place on our travel itinerary had a CDC travel warning about Zika for pregnant women. Whenever you travel, double check no only the security warnings about your destination, but also the health warnings.
So Brad and I went by ourselves. It was incredible and relaxing. It was nice to get away from winter for a little while. I have a few pictures from our trip to share with you. Enjoy!
First order of business when on board: Lunch at Park Cafe
Look who’s a magician! I am. I managed to disappear for the rest of the year! I may not have been living online, but I have been living offline.
2016 was a busy year and the end of it was especially so. Since I last posted I traveled to three different states, won an award, closed the books on a year of business and hosted family for the holidays.
The theme of 2016 for me was travel. I got so many comments this year like, “Seems like you’ve been traveling a lot lately,” “Where are you off to next?” and so on. I returned to a lot of places I’ve been before, to see family, visit clients and attend trade shows. This year felt a little extra special travel wise because I added several new states to my “I’ve visited” map. Check it out. Continue reading →
I’ve been meaning to chronicle some of my recent travels. Today, I’m getting around to talking about my trip to Indianapolis at the end of October.
I may have been going to Indy for a Public Relations conference, but somehow the trip was significantly colored by diabetes… and not really in a bad way. I went for the PRSA International Conference as well as some of the pre-conference PRSA business.
After dinner with other PRSA chapter leaders on the first night, a lady came up to me and said, “I think you need a green one.”
I turned around to see her holding up an OmniPod PDM with a green skin. She had seen my PDM sitting on my bag and came over to say hi. Not only was the skin on hers green (my favorite color) but it also glowed in the dark, how cool is that?
As it turns out, my fellow podder and I were both diagnosed with diabetes as adults… about 5 years ago. We swapped stories and talked about not just diabetes, but just about everything else. Continue reading →
