Elevate Your Sock Game with Magic Socks {Giveaway}

There are two things that people are self conscious about when asked to remove their socks in someone’s home 1. Foot odor and 2. Holey socks. The MP Team has a solution to the first (and kind of to the second when you think about it). Magic Socks are “the world’s best ordorless socks,” they’re infused with silver, copper and zinc which have antibacterial properties and keep the socks from getting that dirty gym sock smell that everyone has tried to forget from high school phys ed class.

As the warmer months are upon us and many of us look to the great outdoors as our gym (hiking, biking, walking, etc) the idea of sweaty, smelly feet is even more concerning, so having a solution seems like – well – magic.

But how magical are these socks? Do they really work?

I tested them out for 7 days of normal use (no crazy marathons or anything) to see if they would start to smell. Although I don’t recommend going a week without washing your socks (nor I I plan to again), I was pleasantly surprised with the results. My findings are below. (If you’re just here for the giveaway, keep on scrolling.)

One of a Kind {Million Dollar Diamond Event}

Sponsored Post.

Brad’s and my anniversary had me remembering a lot about our wedding and the planning that went into it. For our 5th anniversary dinner, I wore my wedding shoes and jewelry. It was a special occasion. The thing from our wedding that we both wear every day are our rings.

When Howard’s Jewelry Center told me they were doing a designer jewelry event for people to customize their own pieces, I thought about the rings I wear every day. My rings aren’t “designer” but they are custom. Much like people will be able to create at Howard’s during their Million Dollar Diamond Event (June 17-25), we picked the diamonds for both my engagement and wedding rings, selected the settings and had them made. My rings are a very classic style that we could probably gotten many places, but mine had to be custom made since my fingers are super small.

It’s nice to know that what I wear every day is really one of a kind, made just for me.

Jamberry Nail Wraps Review

If you’re reading this on the internet, you’ve probably heard of Jamberry nail wraps… if you haven’t, no worries!

My friend Natalie became a Jamberry consultant and she gave me half a sheet of beautiful nail wraps (green) in a cute little starter pack to try out and share with you.

My half sheet of wraps was the Lotus design. They were reasonably easy to put on once I got the hang of the application procedure. There are two ways to apply the wraps, at Natalie’s recommendation, I did the cold method (known as the “baggie” method) because you can reposition them if they are crooked when you first put them on. There is a warm method as well on the Jamberry site. Continue reading

Chocolatey Treats From LEVEL (and a giveaway!)

Before I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes my favorite chocolate treat was peanut butter cups. One 2-pack of them contains about 24 grams of carbs, 21 of which were sugar. Those number are tough to justify except for on really special occasions.

I was really excited to hear that LEVEL had introduced peanut butter cups and turtle bars, which made me very happy when LEVEL offered me a box of peanut butter cups and turtle bars to try out (and to give away).

I managed to not take any pictures of the turtle bars because I put them in my purse for an on-the-go snack. At 19 grams of carbs per bar, they are a peanuty-chocolatey-caramely, guilt-free candy bar.

My favorite was the peanut butter cups. They’re a darker chocolate than the traditional peanut butter cup and the peanut butter has a stronger flavor. Here are pictures of the peanut butter cups: Continue reading

Staying LEVEL {And a Giveaway}

Today is World Diabetes Day. I’m wearing blue, are you?

For those who have, or love someone with, diabetes I have some goodies to share!

Remember awhile ago when I shared with you about the LEVEL Life glucose gels? (Way back in March)

Well the company, which is actually named LEVEL Foods has expanded its product lines with protein shakes and bars that help keep blood sugar level. I love this graphic from levelfoods.com showing how the gels raise low blood sugar and how the shakes and bars support healthy levels.

When I was offered the opportunity to try these new products out, I responded right away that I’d love to! Not long after, my box arrived. Coincidentally, I had some level issues of my own when I opened my box.

 What was in my box? Two flavors of protein shakes, two flavors of protein bars and a package of Strawberry Banana glucose gel. The Strawberry Banana ended up being my favorite flavor when I tested all of the gels.

The Shakes Continue reading
