Peachy Keen Top

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a refashion. For that, I’m very sorry.

I have a perfectly springy project to share today though. It started out as a dress.

The color of this dress caught my eye when browsing clearance racks. I wore it a few times, but the way it clung to my hips made me so self conscious I would only every wear it with a long sweater. I finally decided to make it more versatile.

It looks good on the dress, but not so much on me.

Coffee Bean Dress Refashion

Getting the Maximum Use from a Maxi Dress {Refashion}

One of my top three blog posts of all time is What to Wear to a Graduation. In that post I not only shed some light on what I consider to be appropriate attire for graduation ceremonies, I debuted the first maxi dress I bought.

People have said that short women can’t wear maxi dresses. I personally think that’s untrue. I have grown my maxi dress collection since then and have been happy to see these dresses hang around trend wise. Speaking of hanging around… that’s what my first maxi dress was doing. Just hanging it in the closet. I wore it a handful of times, but it seemed too busy or too formal for most of the time. Continue reading

Yellow Bag Refashion

I swear the color yellow follows me around.

Exhibit A: The yellow dining room

Exhibit B: The yellow tiled bathroom at our apartment

Someone gave me this layered yellow skirt. It was cute but a little on the short side.

After eight years in my closet and only four total wears, I decided this skirt should become something else. Watson wasn’t keen on letting me get started on a project. Continue reading
