Birthday Weekend

My birthday was Friday so I got to spend the whole weekend celebrating it!

Friday evening, armed with our Foodie Cleveland cards, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Lock Keepers in Valley View with our good friends. Afterward we all came back to our house for a movie on the big screen and Main Street Cupcakes (that I had decorated myself at a work event).

Aren’t they pretty?

On Saturday, my in-laws came to visit and we took them in style to the West Side Market. It’s hard to believe that I’ve lived up here since September of 2011 and Saturday was the first time I’d visited it! It was a beautiful and busy day at the market. We enjoyed lunch from Steve’s Gyros and got some wonderful strawberries, blueberries and asparagus. We enjoyed a family dinner at Macaroni Grill. In the past we had been apprehensive to go there after a horrible service experience at the Canton location. A Facebook deal brought us to the Strongsville location a few months ago and a craving for Margherita pizza brought us there for my birthday. Macaroni Grill is a good place to diner with food allergies or other nutrition needs because they publish all of that information in a very easy-to-read format.

Brad wanted it to be clear

On Sunday, we sprang forward and took the day to have a break. We opened the windows for awhile and the furnace didn’t turn on even once. I took the opportunity to organize my jewelry and accessories into my birthday present from Brad. We capped off the weekend with some fro-yo at a very packed Menchie’s.

So much more organized!

It was a great weekend to celebrate another year on Earth… even though it was followed by a rainy Monday.

How was your weekend?

  1. I go through downtown Hudson to get to work, so it’s really really really hard for me not to stop to get cupcakes MSC on a weekly (daily?) basis. ;o)
We had plans to go to the West Side Market on Saturday too! Abby ended up coming down with a stomach bug as we were dropping the kids off at my parents’ house. Boo.
The Strongsville Macaroni Grill is (was? I haven’t given them a thought since cutting out gluten) my favorite location by far.
